About Matthew J. Pyrch
Physician Assistant Matthew Pyrch was inspired by his grandfather to pursue a career in health care. "He was a general practice physician and I loved hearing his stories about providing care to his community, and seeing the satisfaction he got from helping his neighbors and patients."
Matthew emphasizes preventive medicine and shared decision-making. "A good history can be as helpful as any diagnostic test," he says. "Getting to know patients is important to me - working with them over time to help them achieve their health goals." He strives to "help my patients manage their acute and chronic health concerns and to navigate the increasingly complex health care system."
Matthew completed his undergraduate degree in biology and environmental science from Santa Clara University. He then went on to earn his Master of Health Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Duke University.
When he's not working, Matthew enjoys spending time with his family, being outdoors, hiking, fishing and biking.

Providence Patient
I have been a patient here for most of my adult life and truly love my experience. This visit was a bit confusing as I thought it was one type of visit and it turned out to be another and I was caught off guard that my normal primary might be changing after 30 years. I'd really like to find out if this is true. But otherwise, I have always felt as if I was treated like family.

Providence Patient
Matthew Pyrch addressed my concern about a growth on the inside of my right cheek by doing a thorough exam and tried to remove it. He said it was more complicated than he originally thought, and tried to consult with my primary provider, but she was out of the office that day. He recommended seeing an oral surgeon and gave me some references for follow-up. My Pyrch was very diligent in trying his best to resolve my issue at the time of my visit, and I appreciated when he said it was beyond his skill level and gave me advice for next steps.
