About Sayali D. Kulkarni
Growing up watching her grandparents suffer from chronic health issues, Sayali knew by middle school that she would become a doctor. Her studies have taken her from alternative medicine in India to advanced practice nursing in family medicine in Oregon, a combination that equips her to bring a wide variety of skills and experience to her patients today.
In addition to her broad experience, one of Sayali’s strengths is her ability to develop strong relationships with her patients. “I enjoy learning all about them, knowing that every person is so much more than a set of symptoms or test results,” she says. “I consider it a privilege to be a part of their lives.” She empowers her patients to take an active role in their health and care and partners closely with them to achieve their goals.
Board certified in family medicine, Sayali earned her master’s degree in nursing from Oregon Health & Science University, and completed additional care and outcome management training at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Wash. She also holds a professional degree in Ayurvedic Medicine from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences in Pune, India, where she was born and raised.
Sayali and her engineer husband live in Portland with their two daughters and an Australian labradoodle. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, and hiking with her family. She also practices her yoga and vocal music skills regularly.

I saw a nurse practitioner that works with my doctor. She was wonderful, knowledgeable, caring, professional Initially I was disappointed that I would see a nurse practitioner instead of a doctor, but she was great.
