About Ryan G. Ostler
Dr. Ostler grew up in Kennewick, Washington and graduated from Washington State University in Richland, WA with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Dr. Ostler worked as a computer scientist at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory for 10 years before attending medical school at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences in Yakima, WA. It took a while to get to a place where he could fulfill his passion in rural family medicine, and is excited about the opportunity to make long-term relationships with a wide range of demographics, from children to seniors, and positively impact their outlook on what it means to live a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle. Dr. Oster have come to know that in order to care for our bodies, minds, and spirits; we must look at the core issues and educate patients about the importance of daily health maintenance to prevent larger medical concerns in the future. Dr. Ostler looks forward to developing relationships and trust between himself and patients. In his early twenties he was fortunate to live among the Hmong refugees in San Diego, CA, and came to a deep understanding of the importance of this trust, listening to their individual concerns and respecting their unique cultural backgrounds. Outside of work, Dr. Oster enjoys spending time with his family. His wife Ashley and he have three children. He enjoys being involved in his kids’ athletic pursuits and has recently started a new hobby of woodworking. Dr. Ostler enjoys serving in his church congregation and is happy to have deep roots in the Tri-Cities community.

Ostler seems to be an easy-going, friendly guy. Although, he might not appreciate the fears and concerns of a geriatric patient. He, however, spent an extensive amount of time with me to address my concerns, albeit inconvenient for himself and other patients. At any rate, he listened, and scheduled tests to get to the heart of my perceived problems. I appreciate him trying to help me. Just out of curiosity, what happened to doctors who actually drag their stethoscope out of moth balls and actually listen to a patient's heart or lungs, look in their ears, etc.? Anyway, the nurse took my BP, pulse, and oxygen level. I suppose that was enough?
