About Valeria P. Ilieva

Dr. Valeria P Ilieva is an Infectious Disease physician at the Providence Infectious Disease Clinic in Olympia WA. She graduated from Medical University in Sofia, Bulgaria and practiced medicine as a primary care physician and a hospitalist in a facility specializing in treatment and management of active TB. She obtained a specialty in Epidemiology of Infectious Disease and was involved in the implementation of the National Program of Elimination of Measles at the National Center for Infectious Disease in Sofia, Bulgaria. In the US, she completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Lincoln Medical Center, New York and an Infectious Disease fellowship at the University of New Mexico. After becoming Board Certified in Infectious disease in 2017, she has been practicing medicine with a focus on general infectious disease, HIV, and preventive medicine. In her practice, she is dedicated to integrating the latest evidence-based practices with patient centered care, ensuring that the clinical decisions are guided by the best practices while remaining focused on what matters most to each individual patient. She is especially passionate about teaching, antimicrobial stewardship, caring for the poor and underprivileged populations. Dr. Ilieva usually starts her day with a cup of black coffee followed by a morning run. She loves spending time with family and friends, chasing squirrels with her dog, and adventuring in the word of healthy plant-based cooking.
