Samuel Hough, MD

Samuel Hough is a Resident Internal Medicine Provider at Providence Primary Care - Northeast Portland. Sam grew up in Ashland, Oregon, and earned his bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from Santa Clara University. After graduating, he spent two and a half years in case management; first at Central City Concern in Portland and later at a local shelter in his hometown. These formative experiences deepened his commitment to serving underserved populations and ignited a particular interest in caring for individuals with substance use disorders. Motivated by this passion, Sam pursued his medical education at Oregon Health & Science University. He is excited to continue serving the Oregon community through residency at PPMC. Outside of medicine, Sam enjoys cooking, playing and watching sports, including basketball, soccer, and snowboarding, as well as exploring Portland's food truck scene with his wife and their two dogs.
