Kate L. Strooband, CNM

“I try to help my patients be well informed and knowledgeable about their bodies, their health care and their choices,” says Kate Strooband, CNM. “I see education as an essential element of my practice, along with shared decision making and intense respect for each woman's story and point of view.” Kate realized she wanted to be a midwife when she was 18 years old. “I promptly went to nursing school and then got distracted by love and my own babies! I was a labor and delivery nurse for almost twenty years and finally went back to graduate school at age 40. I'm so glad that I finally achieved my goal of delivering babies and caring for women throughout their reproductive lives.” Kate is passionate about health equity and especially loves caring for teenagers, pregnant folks, and people transitioning into menopause and beyond as she is a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP). She has two daughters and enjoys music, cooking, reading books, watching great TV, gardening, and walking her dog.
