About Andrew S. Nik
Dr. Nik is board certified in both neurology and vascular neruology and stroke. "Neurologic illnesses can be challenging, but we are discovering new treatments every day," says Dr. Nik. "My goal is to provide compassionate care to each patient using the best treatment options for each one." Dr. Nik served as a neurohospitalist for John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Indio and Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, where he was involved in resident teaching as well as community outreach including appearing on the local NBC affiliate and lecturing at the Mizell Senior Center. Since December 2015, he has joined the Mission Heritage Medical Group, where he continues to provide compassionate care to those with neurological illness.

Dr. Nik is both knowledgeable and well above average as a listener.

Even though there were no changes to my meds, and I had remaining refills, Dr. Nik caused disruptions that delayed my ability to get my medications. For one he called in an unneeded refill which cancelled my previous Rx that was on a convenient 90 day auto refill schedule. Another Rx was in the process of being refilled with 2 remaining refills. He cancelled it without providing a new Rx to the pharmacy. Now I can't pick it up as planned. This is an absolutely unnecessary disruption following routine care. There were no changes made to any of my medications, not the dose or frequency. I am very upset by the time I've had to spend getting this sorted out, and I can't get an answer from his staff regarding what happened. During the appointment, Dr. Nik suggested a medication that I had a poor experience with in the past because he doesn't look at my chart.
