About John Lyle Tron M. Gomez
Dr. John Lyle Gomez is a neurologist with extensive experience in epilepsy care. Born and raised in the Philippine islands, Dr. Gomez obtained his medical degree at the University of the Philippines, where he graduated cum laude. He completed his neurology residency and epilepsy fellowship at UT Health in Houston. He most recently practiced in Louisiana before joining Providence Neuroscience Institute in Oregon. Dr. Gomez believes that education can empower patients, their families and health care staff to ensure optimal outcomes for people with neurological disorders. "My most important role as a physician is to act as an advocate for my patients to ensure they receive the best possible care," he says. "I emphasize truly listening to a patient's concerns so that in addition to arriving at an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment plan, we can address what matters most to them."

The neurologist was fine but the way Providence Health treats new patients is much to be desired.

I think he relied too heavily on his student's summary of what she gathered from me and subsequently presented to the Dr before they came into the room. I didn't realize until near the end of the appointment that she had left out information that I thought was important. I was able to touch on this topic briefly, but it felt brushed off, presumably because it both didn't seem significant to why I was there to the Dr and it was almost the end of the appointment.
