She believes the core tenant of patient care is shared decision making. It is her job to make sure the patient understands all the options available and risks and benefits of each, but that is important for the patient to feel comfortable with the decisions they are making about their own body. She also strongly believes that the patients' trust in her is something that is earned over time, not automatic just based on her job.

Alyssa loves all animals, but particularly her 4 cats and loves to photograph the local wildlife. She reads 7-10 books per month (thriller, mystery, horror, fiction) and often attends Seattle's sporting events (favorite is women's hockey and basketball - GO TORRENT and STORM).
