About Chelsey N. Chen
"I became a nurse-midwife because I want to help people reach their fullest potential and live their best lives, and fulfilling their reproductive goals is an essential component of overall health,” says Chelsey. “When people are healthy, they are able to reach higher and go farther for themselves, their communities and the next generation.”
In her practice, Chelsea emphasizes respect, compassion, and active listening so that she can fully understand her patients and their needs. “I believe women’s bodies are amazing and do amazing things every day, especially during pregnancy, birth and postpartum” she says. “I want women to feel comfortable in themselves and in the strength of their minds and bodies. My job is to provide them with the education, resources, tools and health interventions to maintain a healthy pregnancy including their physical, mental and emotional health.”
Chelsea earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing at the University of Connecticut and her doctoral degree in nursing practice at Seattle University. She is board certified in nurse midwifery and women’s health.
When she’s not inside working, Chelsey likes to get out in the sun, whether she’s gardening, camping, hiking or exploring the beach with her family. She also enjoys baking bread and other yummy treats.

Was good experience
Providence Patient
Chelsey did helped me understand more about the plan for the last weeks of my pregnancy. She's a good listener which made me less nervous and stressed about the labor. Appreciate her support and understanding.

Chelsey was extremely kind and helpful during our appointment. She gave my partner and I a lot of information about options for pregnancy care and birth. I will likely be returning to see her once I am pregnant (currently trying to conceive). I also had a very positive interaction with the medical assistant who took down my vitals etc when I first arrived. She was very warm and professional.

I've had worst experience in my previous hospitals. Comparatively been loving my experience here so far. In fact I couldn't think of one bad experience at all.
