About Elizabeth A. Dunham
Dr. Dunham is a fellowship trained, board certified, pediatric otolaryngologist (ENT). She initially became interested in medicine during college in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she volunteered with a mountain search and rescue team. After college she taught English in Japan for one year before returning home to pursue medical studies at Tulane University School of Medicine, where she also received a masters in public health (MPH) focusing on international health. This allowed her to pursue her love of travel while pursuing her education, studying buruli ulcer in West Africa and public health issues in Thailand. During her surgery rotation she decided to pursue ear, nose, and throat surgery, as the delicate head and neck anatomy and procedures were fascinating. Given her love of working with children, pediatric otolaryngology was a natural fit so she continued her training at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City to focus on complex pediatric otolaryngology care.
She has been part of the cleft lip and palate team in Central Washington for over ten years, and enjoys providing specialized care to infants and children with complex medical needs. Clinical interests include improving breathing and swallowing for infants and children, airway surgery, cleft palate surgery and care, and head and neck lesions in children.
She enjoys participating in the community and schools, and has volunteered with Girls on the Run, heart dissection labs at the Wenatchee Museum, and with educational programs with her child's school such as salmon dissection lab and camping trips. She has enjoyed collaborating with pediatric specialists across the Pacific Northwest.
When not helping children with airway and ENT problems she enjoys anything outdoors, including hiking, biking, trail running, skiing, kayaking, and rafting. Other interests and hobbies include learning languages, cooking, reading, and writing.
