Sonia A. Allen, PharmD

Dr. Allen serves as an Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacist for PMG West Olympia Family Medicine. Originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, Dr. Allen moved to the Pacific Northwest after high school to start college at the University of Puget Sound where she received a bachelor's degree in Biology. She then attended the University of Washington School of Pharmacy, receiving her BS in Pharmacy in 1995, then her Doctorate in Pharmacy in 1999. She spent the first several years of her career in acute care at Virginia Mason Medical Center, then Providence St. Peter Hospital. She transitioned to ambulatory care in 2006, starting the first anticoagulation clinic in the south Puget Sound area at Providence St Peter Hospital. In 2014, she became board certified in Ambulatory Care Pharmacy and transitioned her practice to the family medicine setting. Her professional passions include patient & provider education, serving the underserved, and focusing on a wholistic, well-rounded approach to patient care. She has enjoyed volunteering for the Olympia Free Clinic, Salvation Army and St. Michael's Mens Shelter. On her free time, she loves writing, spending time with her family & friends, volunteering in various ministries at St. Michael Parish, and traveling.
