Mia S. Di Julio, M.D., is passionate about providing comprehensive care to women at every stage of life. She went into medicine because of the opportunity to connect with and serve her community. Talking with her patients and learning about their lives is a collaboration that helps them achieve optimal health through education, treatment, and prevention. She applies an intuitive and compassionate approach to patient care and views each patient holistically.
When it comes to being a physician, Dr. Di Julio is grateful to be able to guide and support women through some of the most vulnerable, sensitive, and exciting moments in their lives. Obstetrics/Gynecology is a unique and rewarding specialty that helps her form a special relationship with each patient while providing them with customized primary and preventive care, surgical options, and deliver their babies.
Dr. Di Julio’s areas of special interest and expertise include pregnancy and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. She is a recipient of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists Award for Excellence in Minimally Invasive Surgery. She is dedicated to performing innovative procedures with the latest technology. She also manages family planning, fertility, and menopause as well as a wide range of gynecologic issues including ovarian cysts, abnormal bleeding, and fibroids.
Dr. Di Julio earned a BS with High Honors and Distinction and a Masters Degree in Molecular Biology from The University of California at Santa Barbara. She received her medical degree from The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She went on to complete her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Harbor UCLA Medical Center, where she was awarded by her colleagues for excellence in teaching for three consecutive years.
During Medical School in Miami, Florida, Dr. Di Julio had the opportunity to work with small, rural, underserved communities in the Dominican Republic. As outreach into the community, Dr. Julio volunteered for “Medical Students in Action” and served as their Director of Logistics and then the Medical Student Director. Under her direction the organization provided continuous medical care to multiple communities and collaborated with local health care workers. They also planned and managed clinics with many medical specialties including Obstetrics/Gynecology, Pediatrics, Dermatology, Internal Medicine, and Cardiology. Back in the USA she has continued to give back to the underserved communities where she has lived (Los Angeles, Miami, and the Florida Keys) providing obstetrics and gynecology care.
Dr. Di Julio is a Los Angeles native and lives in Venice with her husband. In her free time she enjoys reading, hiking and experiencing new cultures and cuisines. She speaks both English and Spanish.
