About Ryan D. Mattie
Dr. Ryan Mattie is a board certified Physiatrist and Pain Management physician who joined Providence Medical Institute to help deliver the most advanced treatments to patients in the Greater Los Angeles area. Through a multidisciplinary approach and minimally invasive techniques, Dr. Mattie works closely with patients to evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide spectrum of disorders stemming from acute, chronic, or cancer-related pain. From physical therapy and targeted, image-guided injections, to the latest technologies of neuromodulation and implantable devices, Dr. Mattie’s goal is to guide patients through various treatment options and procedures that can help reduce or alleviate pain, restore functional ability, and improve quality of life.
Dr. Mattie obtained his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine, and received the Physician Commendation for Exceptional Professionalism and Service. Following completion of his internship at the University of California, Irvine, Dr. Mattie finished his residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the top-ranked Stanford University School of Medicine, serving as Chief Resident in his final year. After residency, he further specialized in Interventional Pain Management by completing a fellowship at the prestigious University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine. He has written several book chapters and published more than 30 peer-reviewed articles in renowned pain, orthopedic, and musculoskeletal medicine journals. He also serves on the Evidence Analysis and Patient Safety committees for the Spine Intervention Society, helping to develop and promote the highest standards of practice in the diagnosis and treatment of spine pain.
