About Amy L. Hanlon

Throughout her 10 years as an emergency department (ED) registered nurse, Amy Hanlon, DNP, knew that she wanted to work with patients in a different environment. While she thoroughly enjoyed the chaos of the ED, working with patients in psychiatric crisis in that setting was where she thrived. “When I returned to the university to further my education as a nurse practitioner, my focus had shifted to providing psychiatric care,” Amy says.

In her practice, Amy emphasizes a holistic approach to patient care that encourages and enables her clients to become active participants in their own wellness. She considers her most important role as a provider is to deliver safe, patient-centered psychiatric care and she enjoys developing therapeutic relationships with her patients.

Amy earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas.

Born and raised in Kansas, Amy is married and has a daughter. Her hobbies include hiking, reading, waterfall hunting, traveling and making people laugh.
