About Blake T. Andersen
Dr. Blake Andersen is a psychologist with Providence Central Point Family Medicine. Blake began his health care journey with a BA in Psychology from Luther College (Summa Cum Laude), followed by an MA and PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He completed his residency at Western State Hospital in Tacoma and Post-Doctoral Studies in Health Psychology from the University of South Florida (USF) Morsani College of Medicine (Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine), where he later served on the faculty and held an appointment in the Department of Gerontology. Blake is a Washington and Oregon Licensed Psychologist with a strong interest in health psychology and behavioral medicine, and many years of experience treating patients with anxiety, depression, post-trauma and age-related concerns. He draws on a number of therapeutic traditions including motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness meditation, and dialectical behavioral therapy. He is skilled in individual, group, couples and family therapy. Blake has presented at numerous national and international conferences, and has developed a number of competency development programs, performance assessment systems, and outcome evaluation tools for improving patient engagement, lifestyle management and disease self-care. Blake is a lifelong learner with a strong interest in mind/body medicine and health. In both his personal and professional work, he draws on Buddhist, Zen and Yogic teachings, practices and methods. He completed yoga teacher training at Prajna Yoga and Healing Arts in Sante Fe, NM. He is an avid outdoorsman, naturalist, and advocate for animal welfare and rescue organizations.

Blake is a student of Eastern approaches to health and wellbeing. His interest in mind-body medicine inspired him to complete yoga teacher training certification. He loves the outdoors and advocates for animal welfare.
