Jesse E. Chase, PsyD

For most of her life, Jesse Chase, PsyD, has been committed to working in a profession that helps people. After she started college and sat in her first psychology class, she knew that she wanted to empower others to strengthen their psychological well-being. During her doctoral training, she realized the importance of providing care for the whole person, including their religious and/or spiritual identities. She also gained specialty training on how to incorporate people’s belief systems into their care.

In her daily practice, Dr. Chase emphasizes care for the whole person, all in one place, with collaborative, compassionate and solution-focused problem-solving. She sees her role as a behavioral health provider as assessing, advising and assisting patients in addressing their health concerns. She also believes actively listening to her patients’ needs and providing excellent and comprehensive care are important aspects of her role. She enjoys having the opportunity to work with a diverse range of people. “It is an honor to walk beside patients as they learn new ways to improve their quality of life,” Dr. Chase says. “Watching individuals develop skills to overcome barriers is inspirational.” In addition, she approaches her patients’ concerns with an open and curious mind. She thinks people deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, and her aim is to empower patients so they gain confidence in their abilities to accomplish goals.

After completing her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee, Dr. Chase went on to earn her doctorate degree in psychology from George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon. An internship followed at Loma Linda University Medical Center in California, which ultimately led to private practice.

Dr. Chase was born and raised in the South, where she says it is hot and humid, and has the best thunderstorms and lightning bugs. However, she fell in love with the Pacific Northwest and the people who make it even more beautiful. She likes to spend time engaging in meaningful activities such as practicing yoga and meditation, running, gardening, hiking/camping and enjoying social time with the important people in her life.
