Melissa is excellent both professionally and personally. She is thorough in her explanations. She knows her info so well that I think she thinks that I understands the charts too. I don't. It's a lot of information. I would appreciate it even more if she could slow down abit. I've never had any negative experiences with her.

I was impressed with the time spent with me during my appointment to provide updates and gather details about my medical history that did not appear in the questionnaire that I had submitted. The contrast between the level of service provided by Melissa Sloan vs. my past experiences with Kaiser Sleep Medicine was dramatic. Melissa Sloan took the time to explain options to me, set up a new sleep study (because Kaiser had no record of my previous results), and provided me with all of the documentation I would need to order supplies and travel with my CPAP machine in the future. Moreover, she shared valuable tips and information about a battery backup and travel-sized CPAP machine.

NP Sloan seems almost to follow a script. Meaning that she doesn't really seem to register anything I say. When I questioned the type of medical device I am using -- saying that it was causing me pain -- she basically blew me off. She also, like many of Providence's providers, clearly uses a "template" when typing up her notes. Templates are good when used as a starting point. Not so good when, as with NP Sloan's notes, statements are left in that were not made/addressed. I find it extremely frustrating when the notes say that she said or did something that was not said or done.

Contrary to my expectations, the ZOOM meeting was highly productive and appropriate for my limited physical mobility. Melissa Sloan observed incorrect setting of my Bipap mask and we were able to resolve the issue in real time; my sleep patterns have improved radically due to her insight. This is a real step forward!

Nurse Practitioner Sloan was very thorough in her assessment as well as courteous and thorough in answering all my questions. She explained things clearly and in detail.

Because my initial appointment was rescheduled 2 months later I needed replacement CPAP equipment beforehand. So, prior to my appointment, one of the PA/MA helped me and I was able to get new tubing and a mask. On the day of my appointment, from the receptionist, PA/MA to Melissa, the Provider I received excellent, polite and high quality service. I ALWAYS appreciate it when the PA/MA introduces themselves at the outset which she did!! Sadly, this is more rare than it should be. Excellent care all around!

Melissa assisted me with my CPAP machine and answered all needed questions. She was professional, friendly, knowledgable and gave me the time needed.

The provider gave me 100% of her attention for over 30 minutes as we talked about details of CPAP, the hardware and the different hardware providers that have been involved, including what happened with the recall. She suggested a new size for the fitting and that has made a big improvement. We got a new hardware supplier set up and I felt very strongly that she cared about my health and my ability to get more than the minimum (4 hours) CPAP sleep each night.
