About Robert M. J. Green
With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Green specializes in plastic and reconstructive surgery. His areas of interest are breast reductions and reconstructions, breast cancer, post bariatric body contouring, skin cancer reconstruction, and cosmetic surgery. Dr. Green received his doctorate from Rutger Medical School at Camden Campus, New Jersey and during his free time he enjoys surfing and skiing. Dr. Green is board certified in plastic surgery. In Dr. Green's own words I have over 30 years of experience in the practice of cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery. After Rutgers Medical School, my first 6 years as a physician were at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in the city of New York. I completed my general surgery residency, plastic surgery residency and fellowship training at this medical center. I was a clinical instructor for Columbia University during this time. Although I have a broad background in all aspects of plastic surgery, my focus while in New York was on microsurgical and flap reconstruction of the breast and body. In 1992, I moved to Humboldt County, California to start a private practice, join a community and raise a family. I first practiced in partnership with Dr. Russell Pardoe for 8 years, and then moved to solo private practice until 2016. I joined St. Joseph Health Medical Group in November 2016. I managed 10,000 cases during my practice time, 70% reconstructive and 30% cosmetic surgery. Breast reduction, breast cancer reconstruction, facial cancer reconstruction, face lifting, post bariatric body contouring are my most frequently performed surgeries over the breadth of my career. I approach all patients as both a scientist and an artist. All surgery is aesthetic and restorative. I am proud to regularly receive referrals from former patients and colleagues in Humboldt, Mendocino, Del Norte, Trinity and Curry counties. St Joseph Hospital has been my primary hospital for my entire career. I have served as Chief of the Medical Staff, Member of the Board of Trustees, multiple roles on the Medical Executive Committee, Chairman of the Credentials Committee, and many others. I am certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery, a member of the California Medical Society, and a member Humboldt- Del Norte Medical Society.(no AMA) My wife and I live in Arcata, California where we have raised two well rounded and accomplished children. We are all sailors, surfers, scientists, backpackers, snowboarders, dancers, travelers, and humanitarians.
