About Alexander S. Taghva

Dr. Taghva is a board-certified, fellowship-trained neurosurgeon. He specializes in complex and minimally-invasive spine surgery, spinal cord stimulation for chronic pain, deep brain stimulation for Parkinson's disease and brain tumor surgery. He received his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine before completing neurosurgical residency training at the University of Southern California. He then did additional fellowship training at the Ohio State University in neuromodulation. Dr. Taghva has published in many highly-regarded scientific journals and is at the cutting-edge with new techniques in neuromodulation. Dr. Taghva believes in taking a conservative approach to patient care and believes in maximizing nonsurgical care prior to consideration of surgical intervention.
