New Patient Information

The goal of the Montana Spine & Pain Center is to provide you with everything you need for evaluation and management of your condition. We treat persistent pain conditions, as well as evaluate spine conditions. We use a multidisciplinary team approach of health care providers in osteopathic medicine, interventional pain medicine, physical medicine, orthopedic medicine, behavioral medicine and pharmacology. If necessary, we also arrange appropriate consults in other specialties such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, neurology and neurosurgery.

What to Expect

For patients with persistent pain conditions

The first step to participating in our persistent pain program is to watch our “Patient Orientation” videos. These videos will introduce you to our practice and providers, and help you understand the approach and services we provide before scheduling an appointment.

After watching all six videos, click here to request an appointment. This appointment provides an opportunity for us to review your previous records, learn as much as we can about your problem and begin to analyze your current situation. MRI, X-rays or other radiological tests may be recommended during the first visit.

If you taking prescription medications for your condition, you will need to make arrangements with your current health provider to continue treatment. Many medications can cause problems due to withdrawal if they are stopped abruptly.

For patients referred for a spine evaluation

The Montana Spine & Pain Center has a team of providers who evaluate and treat the spine and other musculoskeletal conditions in the clinic. We perform a comprehensive evaluation in an effort to provide the best care for you. Depending on our assessment, we may recommend further imaging, physical therapy, in-office musculoskeletal injections, ultrasound or Electromyography (EMG)-guided injections, fluoroscopically-guided injections (intra-articular, epidural, nerve blocks, etc.), radiofrequency ablation, spinal cord stimulation, referrals for surgery or manipulations. We also have a physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist who treats a variety of neuromuscular conditions and performs nerve conduction studies and EMGs.

If your referring provider would like your spine condition to be evaluated, your referral will be reviewed to determine the appropriate provider. You will then be contacted to schedule your first appointment, which will be for approximately 60 minutes. The provider will review information related to your condition including imaging, complete a physical evaluation and make treatment recommendations.
