Immediate access to innovative treatment

The Providence Medical Group Behavioral Health Urgent Care provides timely access to behavioral health services for individuals 16 and over presenting in a mental health crisis. The program is designed as an alternative treatment setting for those who need urgent (same day) intervention, or in events when you are unable to see your provider for an extended amount of time, but do not necessarily require the services of the Emergency Room.

The clinic is located on the same campus as the Providence Regional Medical Center Emergency Department, so patients first presenting to the Emergency Department may be encouraged to utilize the Behavioral Health Urgent Care, if deemed clinically appropriate by an emergency department physician.

Everett behavioral health urgent care clinic services

A multidisciplinary care team, including psychiatric nurse practitioners and social workers, provide:

  • Assessment: Our behavioral health clinicians will conduct a focused behavioral health evaluation, assessing immediate safety concerns and further behavioral health needs. If indicated and urgently needed, medication may be started in this urgent care setting. (We are unable to complete Court-ordered mental health, substance use disorder, or parenting evaluations. Please contact the requestor or your legal counsel for guidance about where these can be completed.)
  • Resources: Our team will provide resources and help with linkage to community-based mental health treatment in your area, including psychotherapy, psychiatry and case management services (for those not already in treatment), when indicated.
  • Coordination of care and transitional care: Our team provides in-person bridging or telephonic follow up until a linkage with outpatient treatment can be established.

No appointment is necessary. Walk-ins are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please bring your insurance card and contact information for other providers currently involved in your care, such as primary care providers and outpatient behavioral health providers.

If you take medication, please have names and dosages available.

All major insurance plans are accepted.

Providence Behavioral Health Urgent Care is offering virtual crisis telepsych visits for those unable to come for an in-person visit.

Behavioral Health Urgent Care cannot provide ongoing behavioral health treatment, and we cannot perform medical assessment, physical exam or diagnostic tests. Adults requiring a higher level of care than can be provided by our center may can be easily transferred to the Providence Regional Medical Center Emergency Department, located in the same building.

Our providers are unable to prescribe scheduled medications, such as stimulants and benzodiazepines, for patients at the Urgent Care. We believe that patients who are followed by a primary care provider or behavioral health provider for all of their prescription medications receive more thorough care. Stimulants and benzodiazepines prescribed for long term use, such as Adderall, Ritalin, Ativan and Klonopin, must be addressed by your primary care/behavioral health provider. Thank you in advance for your understanding and compliance.

This clinic is funded in part through community members’ donations and grants to Providence General Foundation.
