Lung cancer experts to gather in Oregon for Summit

Providence lung cancer experts to present at oncology summit

OncLive®, a leading digital provider of resources and information to oncology professionals, will host the State of Science Summit: Lung Cancer on Nov. 17 at The Benson in Portland, Oregon.

Registration for this premier in-person oncology summit is free and features medical experts discussing clinical benefits associated with new science to drive new thinking in cancer management. 

Rachel Sanborn, M.D., medical director of the Providence Thoracic Oncology Program, will chair the event, which aims to improve attendees' knowledge of novel treatment approaches and reinforce their confidence in applying state-of-the-art treatment strategies.

About the Providence presenters

Rachel E. Sanborn, M.D., is medical director of the Thoracic Oncology Program and the Phase I Clinical Trials Program at Earle A. Chiles Research Institute and Providence Cancer Institute. She is also an Institutional Review Board member for Providence Health & Services. She is a member of several professional groups, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, and the Hoosier Cancer Research Network Thoracic Clinical Trial Working Group.
 

Evelyn M. Brosnan, M.D., has a special interest in lung cancers and also sees other solid tumor cancer patients in her practice. She completed a hematology/oncology fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and an internal medicine residency at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Prior to receiving her medical degree, Dr. Brosnan received her MBA and has an extensive background in research and product development for science and technology companies.
 

Regan M. Duffy, M.D., MPH, is a physician specializing in medical oncology in Portland, Ore. She provides compassionate care, allowing patients to have an active role in their cancer treatment. Dr. Duffy received her medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University.



Michael D. Skokan, M.D., is medical director of Pulmonology at Providence Cancer Institute. He also focuses on critical care medicine, lung cancer and lung nodules at The Oregon Clinic. Dr. Skokan graduated from Oregon Health & Science University and later completed his residency at George Washington Hospital where he became chief resident. He was also the chief resident at the University of Utah Medical Center.
