About Michael I. Miyamoto
Dr. Miyamoto is a board-certified cardiologist with over 25 years of practice experience. He received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Stanford University where he graduated with Distinction and Departmental Honors. He attended medical school at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. He then completed his internal medicine residency at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston. Following this, he was a clinical and research fellow in Cardiology, Heart Failure and Transplantation at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston.
Dr. Miyamoto joined Mission Heritage Medical Group Cardiology in 1998 and has been involved in clinical practice, research and medical technology development. His major research interests focus on the fundamental aspects of cardiovascular disease, including imaging studies of ancient humans (mummies) as well as indigenous, pre-industrial populations.
Dr. Miyamoto is very involved in developing technology applications for health care. He still strongly believes in the importance of the human side of the physician-patient relationship, though.

This was my first visit due to a new health concern .I was very pleased and so relieved by the advice and check up I received.

Dr. Miyamoto has not been helpful. All he concerns himself with is typing information In the computer and getting me out of his office as soon as possible. I requested to switch cardiologists to another one in the group and was told I could not do so since this cardiologist saw me many years ago according to the system. He had no recollection of me and I of him. This is poor business practice not permitting a doctor change. Therefore, I plan to locate a regular cardcardiologist outside this group.
