About David B. Trowbridge
Dr. Trowbridge pursued a career in medicine because of its challenges, complexities, and opportunities to relieve suffering and make an impact on peoples’ lives. “I have a strong focus on preventing cardiovascular illness and improving both my patients’ lifespan and their health span,” he says. “That means providing guideline-driven care and offering the most advanced, proven treatments that improve the quality as well as the length of life.”
In addition to being a doctor, Dr. Trowbridge believes that his most important role is to be an educator, making sure that his patients understand the reasons behind their care plan and encouraging them to take part in the decision-making process. “I enjoy hearing about my patients’ life journeys,” he says, “and seeing their well-being improve over time with treatment.”
A graduate of the University of California, Davis, he earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and completed his internship and residency at the Dwight David Eisenhower Army Medical Center. He also completed a fellowship in cardiology with the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium. Dr. Trowbridge is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease and has specialized training in basic life support, advanced cardiac life support, and advanced trauma life support.
Since 1993, Dr. Trowbridge has served in the uniformed services, spending 18 years in the U.S. Army prior to joining the U.S. Air Force and the Oregon Air National Guard. “To my good fortune,” he says, “my military and civilian careers brought me to Southern Oregon, where I enjoy hiking, biking, skiing, and spending time in the outdoors with my family.”
