About Anthony D. Marrone
Dr. Anthony Marrone is a chiropractic physician specializing in providing comprehensive care for a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions including both acute and chronic conditions with decades of experience. He treats acute as well as chronic pain conditions and has a variety of clinical interests. He has expertise and a special interest in the identification and treatment of Hypermobility Ehlers-Danlos, Whiplash Associated Disorders and a wide range of musculoskeletal disorders.
Dr. Marrone holds a Diplomate in Rehabilitation and is also a Credentialed Mechanical Diagnosis & Therapy (MDT) provider (The McKenzie Method). He uses a wide combination of therapeutic approaches in managing patients’ conditions including manipulative therapies, soft tissue mobilization, physical therapy, prescriptive and focused therapeutic exercise as well as a variety of mind-body interventions.
Dr. Marrone has a special interest in treating chronic pain patients. Through a wide variety of approaches, he helps patients recover their function and improve the quality of their life. In addition, Dr. Marrone helps patients better understand their own unique pain experience by providing them with the most current knowledge of the neuroscience of pain. This empowers patients to make progress at their own pace.
In addition to treating patients, Dr. Marrone has been a field physician for studies funded by the NIH for chronic low back pain, neck pain and cervicogenic headaches. He also participated in several studies in his private practice for the RAND corporation.
Dr. Marrone has been an invited speaker on the role of chiropractic medicine in Integrative Medicine for many years and frequently spoke for the Oregon Collaborative for Integrative Medicine at their Grand Rounds presentations. He has been an invited speaker for a wide variety of professional groups on the nature of chronic pain and its effects on patients’ lives.
In his practice, Dr. Marrone's primary goals are to first understand who his patients are, what they have and why they are seeking care. He firmly believes the first step to establishing a successful therapeutic relationship with patients is taking the time to listening to their personal story. He co-partners with his professional colleagues in multiple disciplines to provide well balanced care.
