Helen H. Koenigsman, MD

Dr. Koenigsman is a board certified ophthalmologist and fellowship trained glaucoma specialist offering comprehensive ophthalmic services as well as advanced glaucoma and cataract care. She is an award-winning cataract surgeon offering the latest intraocular lenses to reduce dependence on glasses. Dr. Koenigsman provides advanced medical, laser and surgical care for the treatment of glaucoma, including minimally invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS). She is also available for diabetic, age-related macular degeneration, inflammatory, and routine eye examinations. Dr. Koenigsman’s professional associations include the American Glaucoma Society, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, International Society of Refractive Surgery, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, the Oregon Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Medical Association among others. Dr. Koenigsman highly values life-long learning. She had a successful career as a software engineer for over a decade. However, her desire to help people led Helen to reconsider her professional goals and pursue a career in medicine. “I believe that curiosity, the humility to always be a student in life, and the ability to embrace change are key elements to providing quality patient care.” Since childhood, Helen has been involved in community service. She and her husband participate in the school activities of their sons and, as a family, they work together in giving back to their community. Dr. Koenigsman especially enjoys singing and playing the piano. Her family enjoys fishing, reading, skiing, exploring, and making new memories together.
