Katy Baker, ACNP

Katy Baker, MSN, ACNPC-AG, is an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner joining the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Covenant Medical Center. She began her nursing career in the Burn ICU at University Medical Center, where she developed expertise in complex critical care and wound management. Outside of clinical care, she was selected as one of only 11 nurses nationwide to help develop the first-ever Certified Burn Registered Nurse (CBRN) exam, curated by the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN). This achievement reflects her dedication to advancing nursing practice in critical care and setting national standards of excellence. Katy is passionate about delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to critically ill patients and supporting families during their most difficult moments. Outside of medicine, she enjoys being active in her church at First Baptist, spending time with her husband Christopher and their son Michael, and cheering on Christopher's baseball team, the Lubbock-Cooper Pirates!
