Lance W. Chapman, MD

Dr. Lance Chapman, MD, MBA, is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon at Island Dermatology. Specializing in Mohs micrographic surgery, Dr. Chapman is passionate about combining medicine, pathology, and surgical precision to provide the highest level of care for skin cancer patients. Dr. Chapman earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame, his medical degree from UCLA, and completed his dermatology residency at UC Irvine. He further honed his expertise through a Mohs Surgery Fellowship at UCSF. Fluent in Spanish, Dr. Chapman is dedicated to serving a diverse patient population with compassion and precision. Inspired by witnessing his own parents undergo numerous Mohs procedures, Dr. Chapman developed a deep appreciation for the multidisciplinary approach to skin cancer treatment. His patient care philosophy emphasizes early detection and diligent skin checks, recognizing that timely intervention leads to better outcomes for patients. Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Chapman is an avid marathon runner, enthusiastic traveler, and proud father of four children. He balances his professional dedication with a vibrant family life, bringing energy and focus to all he does.
