Joyce Y. Kim, MD

Dr. Joyce Kim is a board-certified dermatologist with a passion for both medical and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Kim’s clinical expertise spans a variety of dermatologic treatments, including medical and surgical dermatology, laser procedures, neurotoxins, soft tissue fillers, chemical peels, and hair restoration. She is particularly dedicated to helping patients achieve their best skin, combining science with artistry. Dr. Kim moved to Southern California in high school, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of California, Irvine. She then went on to graduate from the University of California, Riverside, School of Medicine, where her academic excellence earned her the honor of serving as a lead instructor for medical courses and board exam preparation. Dr. Kim completed her internal medicine preliminary year and dermatology residency at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center. During her training, she was appointed Chief Resident for Cosmetic Dermatology and also served as the scheduling chief, overseeing rotations for residents and medical students. Throughout her residency, Dr. Kim’s contributions to skin cancer research earned her the distinction of “Rising Derm Star.” Eager to broaden her knowledge, she also trained at Seoul National University Hospital, South Korea’s most prestigious medical centers that leads in innovative procedures, to deepen her expertise in treating skin conditions in Asian patients. A passionate mentor, Dr. Kim continues to educate and inspire through her social media platforms, where she shares insights on skincare and wellness. Outside of her practice, she enjoys traveling to experience new cuisines, spending time with her loved ones (including her beloved rescue dog, Brulee), and staying active through Pilates and cycling.
