About Jodie Raffi

Dr. Jodie Raffi is a board-certified dermatologist trained in all aspects of dermatology: medical, surgical, and cosmetic. Her main approach to medicine is that each patient deserves a comprehensive evaluation and a holistic approach to their individual needs. She chose to pursue a career in the field of dermatology because she was moved by the strong impact that skin disease can have on quality of life; indeed, the field dermatology frequently involves elements of the body much deeper than the skin alone. Furthermore, she was drawn to the field of dermatology because it is still evolving and developing new frontiers, which means that new discoveries and therapies are being made every day. To her, being a dermatologist is more than being solely an in-office clinician - it is also about being a scientist, a researcher, a surgeon, a pathologist, and most importantly, a life-long learner.

Dr. Raffi was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts. Since adulthood she has lived in California where she completed her undergraduate and medical training. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Public Health at the University of California, Berkeley. Subsequently, she completed her medical training at the University of California, Irvine at which time she decided to pursue specialty training in dermatology. She then completed her intern year at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center. She completed her dermatology residency training at the University of California, Irvine.

During her training, Dr. Raffi spent a dedicated year at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) researching and publishing original articles related to allergic contact dermatitis (ACD), atopic dermatitis, and the then-newly developed atopic dermatitis medication. During that time she also served on CAMP Global Assessment Task Force for the American Contact Dermatitis Society, working with some of the key ACD opinion leaders in the United States on various projects related to ACD. She has received multiple awards for her research and presentations at academic dermatologic conferences.
