About Reza Kafi
Dr. Reza Kafi was drawn to the specialty of dermatology because of the versatility of practice. “We see patients from the start to the finish of their conditions, and we can also experience the visual diagnosis, progressing through pathology and ending through treatment or surgical intervention,” he says. “This is unique to the field and very compelling to me.”
Yet while he treats complex medical and surgical dermatology patients, Dr. Kafi remains focused on the whole person as his highest priority and treasures each encounter. “I feel it is an honor and privilege to be allowed to care for a patient’s overall health and improve their quality of life.”
Dr. Kafi, a board-certified dermatologist, earned his undergraduate degree in biology and medical degree from the University of Michigan. He went on to complete his internship nearby at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn and his residency training with Stanford University.
Having grown up in Michigan and attended the state’s flagship university, he still enjoys Michigan football today. While not working, he loves tennis, the outdoors, and spending time with his family.

My PCP doctor asked for an appointment ASAP. ONE WAS GIVEN THAT SAME DAY!! I have a Basel cell carcinoma on the tip of my nose. It needed a biopsy to determine what it was and how soon to start care dr kafi was wonderful to work me in so quickly and take the biopsy. He's a very caring and thorough doctor and I really appreciate his willingness to care for me!

This exam was for a Skin Check. As I have to travel from Seaside to Portland I choose an appointment on my day off, which is Monday. I waited a year for this appointment. I suspect if I had an immediate concern they would have accommodated me, and I would have taken time off work to attend on any day that was available. My experience was overall very positive!

Fortunately, I asked to be put on a waitlist and the scheduler was able to get me in when a cancellation occurred. Otherwise, I would've had to wait a couple months for a scheduled appointment. I saw Dr. Kafi with a concern about a mark on my face that had changed recently. I understand that he arranged his schedule to see me on an urgent basis. I was very thankful for that. He biopsied the mark in question and treated another facial mark that had recently arisen. While the biopsied tissue proved benign, the secondary concern was early basal cell carcinoma that he treated. I am very thankful for the prompt and very professional care I received from Dr. Kafi and his staff.
