Mahmood K. Razavi, MD

Dr. Mahmood Razavi is a board-certified radiologist specializing in vascular and interventional radiology. He serves as the Director of the Clinical Trials and Research Center at St. Joseph Hospital and is a partner at Vascular & Interventional Specialists of Orange County. Dr. Razavi earned his medical degree from the University of Southern California and completed his Radiology residency at UCLA, where he was appointed as Chief Resident. To advance his expertise, he undertook subspecialty fellowships, first in Medical Imaging at UCLA and later in Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology at Stanford University Hospital. Outside of his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Razavi has made significant contributions to the medical community through his extensive scholarly work. He has held the position of Chief Editor and served on editorial boards for several prestigious medical journals. His academic portfolio includes over 350 peer-reviewed scientific publications, abstracts, and book chapters, with noteworthy articles published in esteemed journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, Nature Medicine, Circulation, Kidney International, and Radiology. Furthermore, Dr. Razavi has played a pivotal role in clinical research, serving as the National or Global Principal Investigator or co-Principal Investigator for 17 multicenter international clinical trials, along with leading over 50 institutional trials.
