Erin Kaad, Doula

Erin Kaad is a trained and certified birth and postpartum doula with Doulas of North America (DONA) as well as an Oregon Traditional Health Worker Doula. Erin grew up in the midwest, but has lived in almost every quadrant of Portland for the last 15+ years. After a decade of teaching in public schools and abroad, Erin decided to build on her education background by pursuing another passion, healthcare. Through pregnancy, childbirth and early parenting, she became fascinated with birth, our bodies’ abilities and child development. However, paired with this awe was the shock of how challenging and transformational the changes were with limited societal supports. This realization encouraged her to become a doula. Now Erin's mission is to help all birthing people feel safe, supported, confident and informed through pregnancy, labor and beyond in order to have a healthy start for their family. Erin has additional training in lactation, CPR, trauma informed care, gender affirming care and more. When not doulaing, Erin can be found hiking, biking, crafting, or hanging out around Portland with her family.
