About Jessica M. Chan
Dr. Jessica Chan is a board certified Endocrinologist. She completed her medical school training at Creighton University School of Medicine and her internal medicine residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. She then completed her fellowship training in endocrinology at the University of Southern California. Dr. Chan's areas of expertise includes thyroid disease, diabetes, pituitary disorders, and calcium disorders. She has chosen a career of medicine because it is both challenging and rewarding. Her philosophy of care is focused on advocating for her patients and providing each patient with compassionate care. Her hobbies include running, rock climbing, yoga, and spending time with her family.

This provider's medical knowledge appears good, but her bedside manner is severely lacking. She never made 1 positive remark about my weight loss and health journey. I felt shamed for not losing enough weight on a GLP1, even though I am exercising regularly and am eating 1 full meal/day. Other possible reasons for weight loss difficulty were not fully discussed(menopause; hormones; liver function). Not sure if I will continue with this provider.

I just started taking medicine for my blood pressure. The doctor prescribed 3 additional medicines plus insulin. I thought she was to aggressive and not a good listener. I think she should have met me in person before prescribing all the medicine. She really scared me about the things I would no longer be able to eat. Seeing another doctor now

Somehow, some information on my chart was an accurate example saying that I was 5'6 I am 5 feet one. This made a huge difference in my weight loss and BMI direction. I feel like that's for some reason it was not correctly placed on my chart or perhaps it was for someone else's information. The doctor was concerned and corrected quickly. This did change my plan of care that's a huge difference in height when you're dealing with someone's weight loss in BMI. I was grateful that the doctor was receptive and made the necessary corrections.
