About James L. Neifing
Dr. Neifing attended the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign where he received both a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s in Business Administration. He received his M.D. in 1986 from the University of Illinois, College of Medicine, in Peoria. Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland was the scene of his residency, with an Endocrinology fellowship following at the University of Washington. Dr. Neifing returned to Portland when he joined PDEC in 1991. Dr. Neifing is on the Board of the Gales Creek Camp Foundation for Children with Diabetes and usually serves as a supervising physician at summer camp. He is on the Medical Executive Committee for the Legacy Hospital System and chairs both the Endocrine Section and the Osteoporosis program.
