About Kevin T. Bauerle
Dr. Bauerle is a native of Baton Rouge, LA and completed his MD/PhD training at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. His doctoral thesis work focused on the molecular mechanisms associated with advanced thyroid cancer development and progression and laid the foundation for his continued clinical interest in endocrine neoplasms. From there, he completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA and Fellowship in Clinical Endocrinology at Washington University in St. Louis. His postdoctoral research aimed at determining the role of glucocorticoid signaling in adipose tissue development.
Prior to his current role with Providence Endocrinology, Dr. Bauerle held positions both in private practice and academic endocrinology settings in St. Louis. In these roles, he maintained an active clinical practice and was also responsible for inpatient diabetes care, endocrine fellowship recruitment and training, and research efforts aimed at determining the role of immune cell vitamin D signaling in metabolic disease. He has authored a number of book chapters and research manuscripts on thyroid neoplasms and the role of nuclear hormone receptor signaling in metabolic disease. Dr. Bauerle is excited to have joined Providence Endocrinology and looks forward to caring for patients with complex endocrine disease. His clinical interests lie in the areas of endocrine neoplasms and metabolic bone disease.
