Mimi N. Nguyen, MD

My previous care provider of 25 years was excellent, Mimi Nguyen will prove to be even better. She is sharply analytical but warm and welcoming. She put me at ease while instilling me with confidence that she knows her shit. I really like her.

Dr. Nguyen is the best PCP I could hope for at my advanced stage of life (age 86). Like many old people with a long history of medical events and procedures that have left their mark--lung cancer, ruptured diverticulum, ileostomy, pulmonary embolism, COPD, bilateral knee replacement, small bowel blockage, to name a few--I'm aware I'm something of a challenge. Dr. N quickly picked up on the history and focused on what I'd call doing the best with what's left. She listens, offers options, and doesn't insist on aggressive assessments or treatments even though she may or may not medically or personally endorse my preferences. These Include DNR and no aggressive procedures at this stage of life. She follows through on necessary support such as referrals, Rx refill orders, and useful written guidance for sensible self-care as discussed in appointments. She's even instructed her assistants to nudge external providers who don't follow through on requests for service. Dr. Nguyen has earned an A+ in my book. Any plans in the works for cloning her?

I needed to be seen right away. I was not able to get in to see my regular provider. The provider who saw me (subject of this survey) was superb. That said, it's always best if patients can see their main provider and not be bounced around from provider to provider. You need to allow PCPs to set aside dedicated time for same-day visits for patients' pressing needs.

Really good experiences from my PCP

I established care with Dr. Nguyen in Oct. 2025, after two difficult hospitalizations for a small bowel obstruction. The obstruction was resolved without surgery. In dealing with the aftermath of this trauma, combined w/ chronic conditions (COPD, sinusitis, history of lung cancer), at 85 I decided to seek a PCP specializing In care of the elderly. Dr. N's practice has proven to be what I'd hoped for. She herself is a good listener and an even better multi-tasker, keeping track of a long medical history and Integrating It Into current "management" strategies. Her assistants are always kind and efficient.

Everything about my appointment, from scheduling to the visit was seamless. It was an excellent experience and I am glad to have found such a great practice.

Dr. Nguyen has been wonderful in the 65+ Center at PacMed. I never feel rushed and she addresses my increasing needs as I age.

I love the PacMed and really really love the 65+ clinic. I am always treated with respect and kindness when I visit the Beacon Hill campus and very rarely have to wait for anything including the lab (those guys are the best, so calm).
