About Leah B. Rorvig
Professional Interests: Advance Care Planning & Palliative Care Home-Based Primary Care Medical Education Health Care for incarcerated older adults and patients with low health literacy Dr. Rorvig is a family doctor and geriatrician dedicated to the care of older adults and persons with disabilities. Her passion is providing superb longitudinal care for patients with complex health problems such as dementia, cancer, and heart disease. Dr. Rorvig sees patients in clinic and in the nursing home. Dr. Rorvig also sees patients for geriatrics consultation where she can assist with diagnosis and management of memory problems and other health issues faced by older adults, such as weight loss and falls. Before joining Petaluma Health Center, Dr. Rorvig completed a fellowship in geriatric medicine at UCSF. After fellowship, Dr. Rorvig worked as an assistant clinical professor at UCSF, where she served as the director of the geriatric curriculum for the UCSF Family & Community Medicine Residency. From 2018 to 2021, her research focused on evaluating health care quality in the California Correctional Health Care Services system. In addition, she served as the director of health education for Amend at UCSF, an institute focused on changing correctional culture to improve the health of those who live and work in U.S. jails and prisons. In her free time, Dr. Rorvig loves exercising, reading poetry, traveling to New Mexico, and spending time with her partner and young son.
