About Therese Santos
Dr. Therese Santos is a board-certified family medicine physician with St. Jude Heritage Medical Group in Yorba Linda, California. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in kinesiology exercise science at CalState Long Beach and attended medical school at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California. She completed her internship and residency at Mercy Medical Center in Redding, California. She is an advocate for promoting health and wellbeing, preventing diseases using evidence-based medicine, and providing care for acute and chronic medical conditions for the adolescent to elderly population. She values the osteopathic philosophy of treating each person as a whole - that the mind, body, and spirit are interconnected. As a result, she strives to work with each patient in an empathetic, informative, and individualized way to help them reach their optimum health and wellness. In addition, she enjoys performing office procedures, which include laceration repairs, incision and drainage, IUD or nexplanon removal and insertions, certain joint injections, skin biopsies, cryotherapy, and also practices certain modalities of osteopathic manipulative medicine.
As a health and wellness advocate and certified personal trainer, she enjoys exercising, hiking, dancing, playing volleyball, and learning how to play new sports. She also enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, cooking and baking healthier versions of her favorite food, trying new restaurants, traveling, and being involved and growing with her church community.

This was a new patient visit. My previous PCP retired. I am very happy with choice I made to have Dr. Santos as my new PCP and appreciate her having an in-person appointment available. The other PCPs In at the Yorba Linda practice had only virtual visits for a new patient. Dr. Santos' listening skills are quite acute. There were things I mentioned casually about lifestyle that were in my visit summary. I will see her again for a Well Visit in December. Thank you.

After Dr. Joanna Tan's 2024 retirement, I'm becoming comfortable with Dr. Santos, and things are going well. A year ago Dr. Santos suggested I take advantage of the Diabetic workshop series offered by Providence. This last March I finally elected to attend the workshop series, as my A1C had gone up to [ID] last December. I had read several books related to aging and diabetes and the workshops were very informative, interesting, and pulled info together. In June my A1C went down to [ID] due to adjusting carb intake. I plan to repeat the workshop series in September. I really appreciate that Dr. Santos suggested going to the workshop series.

First, this is the second survey I've received and completed for the [date] appointment with Dr. Santos. This past year, my family physician on 40 years, Dr. Joanna Tan, retired. She recommended Dr. Santos to be my new family physician. The transition has been very smooth. [date] was my annual physical appointment. Lab tests indicated a 6.9 A1c, which concerns me. Dr. Santos reviewed that info and other results with me. Even though I exercise daily, am a life member of Weight Watchers, I'd like to lower the A1c, so I asked for a referral to a nutritionist. Dr. Santos provided the referral, and I received a call and email within a few days. Also, Dr. Santos' receptionist and nurse are very friendly, yet professional.
