Nichole M. Mckinsey, DO

Dr. McKinsey was born and raised in York, Pennsylvania and slowly made her way out west where she attended Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her rural Family Medicine residency training in Traverse City, Michigan at Michigan State University affiliated Munson Medical Center before settling in Polson, Montana in 2015. She was drawn to the mountains and wide open space of northwest Montana, as well as the rural, underserved community she would serve. She is passionate about healthcare access and equity, preventative and lifestyle medicine, women’s and children’s health and mental health, as well as working with indigenous peoples. She finds joy and purpose in working with her patients and their communities and served as the Lake County Health officer from 2016 to 2020, she teaches art at Linderman elementary school as part of the art docent program and is involved in Missing and Murdered Indigenous People activism locally. Dr. McKinsey is also passionate about working with underserved communities abroad and has volunteered in Tanzania, Kenya, India and Thailand and most recently worked in New Zealand for the year of 2025. Outside of medicine, she is an art and nature lover and can be found foraging, hiking and camping, teaching yoga and meditation or creating pottery and oil painting. And she loves animals, especially cats. She is certified with the American Board of Family Medicine and is a diplomate of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine.
