Katherine J. Schneidmiller, PAC

Katherine Schneidmiller, PA-C, was always interested in medicine. Her career started as an athletic trainer in sports medicine then decided to go back to school to be a Physician Assistant. “Being a physician assistant in family medicine allows me to work with all ages and treat many family members,” says Schneidmiller. “It provides opportunities for me to teach patients about their health.” PA Schneidmiller emphasizes the importance of taking action to improve and maintain a healthy lifestyle. She also thinks it is important for patients to have an understanding of what is happening with their body, and what we can do to treat them. “It's important for me to empathize and be honest with patients,” says Schneidmiller. Growing up in North Carolina, then moving to Maryland, Katherine worked as a physical therapy athletic trainer. Later, she worked for the University of Wyoming as a club sports graduate assistant athletic trainer. Katherine earned her Master of Medical Science from Wake Forest University. She also holds a Master’s in Kinesiology and Health Science from the University of Wyoming. And a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise and Sports Science Athletic Training from UNC Chapel Hill. After finishing PA school, she worked in Springfield, OR in family medicine. Recently moving to Portland, Katherine loves to spend time outdoors with her husband and dog. When she’s not practicing medicine, Katherine enjoys hiking, snowboarding, and being on the mountain.
