About Tanya L. Page

Dr. Tanya Page says she chose to become a medical provider because "medicine affords a very unique opportunity to participate in the world of science but spend your days working directly with patients. I truly enjoy time spent getting to know families and am repeatedly struck by how these personal relationships make it so much easier to work together toward better health."

She views her most important role as a provider as a medical translator for her patients, to help them understand what is happening and what their options are. "I highly value the doctor-patient relationship and truly enjoy working together to find the best ways to treat and prevent illness," she says.

Born in rural Michigan, Dr. Page also lived in New York City and now Portland. She says a number of years spent working to help homeless people taught her important life lessons and raised her awareness around fitting medical recommendations to the lives of patients. When she's not working, Dr. Page enjoys hiking, canoeing and travelling.
