About Christopher J. Kim
As a child, Christopher Kim, MD, was inspired by the doctors in his community. “I looked up to their knowledge and the impact they had on their patients,” he recalls. “I, too, wanted to make a positive impact and help people achieve their health goals.”
In his medical practice today, Dr. Kim is motivated to use a combination of his own knowledge and clinical skills, as well as his social skills to “provide the best standard of care possible for my patients, so that together we may help achieve their expectations.” He always puts his patients first while aiming to “be a trustworthy member of the community, for which I hope to make a positive difference.”
Dr. Kim earned his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Binghamton University in New York and his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Roseau, Dominica. He then went on to complete his medical training at the Virginia Tech Carilion Family Medicine Residency Program in Roanoke.
A New York City native, Dr. Kim was born to parents from South Korea and grew up speaking both English and Korean. Today he is a proud parent to a black Labrador Retriever and enjoys hiking, working out, watching basketball and football, cooking, and watching movies. He is also an avid Muay Thai kick boxer.

The Doctor was very short and didn't seem to really care. It felt like he just wanted to get me out so he could go to his next patient.
Providence Patient
Dr. Kim was very dismissive of my health concerns, it was clear he had no regard for my well being and wanted me out of the clinic as quickly as possible. He never introduced himself or asked how I was doing. When I brought up my health concerns he said "yeah I can put in a consult but everybody has trouble concentrating so you know". He also sent me to wait for blood labs without asking if I had ate in the last 12 hours so I waited for 30 mins to learn I couldn't do the labs because I wasn't fasted. I even asked Dr. Kim if he was sure I could take the labs same day and he confirmed it was okay. All in all, I don't feel that this provider wanted me as a patient, or had any regard for my well being. I won't be recommending him to others that I care for.
