About Jose M. Negron
Dr. Negron became a physician so he could have a positive impact in the lives of others. He encourages his patients to get involved in decision-making and emphasizes self-care through exercise, sleep, hygiene, nutrition and structuring a well-balanced lifestyle.
"A welcoming, compassionate and non-judgmental approach to medical care is essential for it to be effective," he says. "My most important role is to act as an agent of change to maintain health and well-being in my patients."
Establishing long-term connections with patients of diverse backgrounds is one of the things Dr. Negron enjoys most about being a provider. "Every patient has a unique story. Each encounter with them is an opportunity to learn something new. My patients are among my best teachers," he says.
Dr. Negron grew up in rural Puerto Rico and served in the United States Navy before attending medical school. After earning his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry in 2003, he completed a residency in family medicine at the Northwestern University St. Joseph Hospital Family Medicine Program in Chicago in 2006. He has received special training from the American Academy of HIV Medicine.
In his free time, Dr. Negron enjoys family life with his partner and pets, running, biking, reading and gardening.
