About Mina M. Cunningham
Dr. Mina Cunningham is a family medicine physician specializing in comprehensive maternity and newborn care. She is dedicated to supporting birthing individuals and their families through every stage of pregnancy, labor, delivery, and the postpartum transition. Dr. Cunningham completed her residency at the St. Louis University Southwest Illinois Family Medicine Program, where she served as Chief Resident, and later completed a fellowship in Maternal and Newborn Health at Beaumont Health. Her clinical training includes high-risk pregnancy care, obstetric ultrasound, labor management, and cesarean delivery. Dr. Cunningham’s approach to care is centered around partnership, education, and empowerment. She strives to ensure that patients feel heard, respected, and supported in their choices, and she values providing evidence-based, compassionate care during some of the most meaningful moments in a family’s life. In addition to obstetrics, she offers newborn care, lactation support, full-spectrum family medicine, women’s health services, and office procedures including contraception placement, joint injections, skin biopsies, and migraine treatment such as Botox. She has held multiple teaching and leadership roles in obstetrics, including curriculum development, simulation instruction, and resident mentorship. Her work is deeply rooted in advancing safe, equitable, and patient-centered maternity care. Outside of medicine, Dr. Cunningham enjoys gardening, painting, photography, hiking, birdwatching, thrifting and up-cycling vintage furniture, traveling, playing the piano, tabletop games, anime, and collecting art. She is currently learning Spanish to better support Spanish-speaking patients in her community.
