About Roxanne J. B. Thomas
Guided by a lifelong interest in community health, Dr. Thomas spent several years working in environmental policy before deciding that she could make a greater impact on community health through medicine. “I chose family medicine because I enjoy building relationships with patients and their families, seeing folks of all ages – from newborns to the elderly, and walking through a variety of experiences with them,” she says.
Creating a safe space to discuss health issues, as well as personal difficulties, is important to Dr. Thomas. “I hope to have open and honest dialogue with my patients,” she says. In her practice, she provides women’s health care, prenatal care and transgender care. She emphasizes prevention and evidence-based care to keep patients healthy.
Dr. Thomas holds a bachelor’s degree in atmospheric and environmental science from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and a medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She completed her residency at Providence Milwaukie Family Medicine, where she is now pleased to practice.
A Canadian by birth, Dr. Thomas grew up in West Texas. She is married and has a blended family that includes a 4-year-old daughter, three adult stepdaughters and a dog named Theo. She and her family love camping and exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
