I was pleased to get in right away. The doctor put a knee brace on and I asked if I could help... She was in a hurry, said that she only had ten minutes, sent me to x-ray ray in a wheelchair. The technician in x ray said that the knee brace would need to come off for the x ray.So, we took it off , and she put it back on just like the doctor had it. I wasn't really paying attention because I was in pain, I guess, she took me back up to the clinic where I asked if I was Free to go, or should I wait to talk to the doctor. The receptionist said that I should wait. Then after waiting, a young woman came out and said that I was free to go.I got up from the wheelchair, held on to the wall to get to the elevator, eventually managed to get to my vehicle. I was given paperwork to follow up with physical therapy. I went to get up from the wheelchair and my leg was so isolated from the knee brace it was difficult to get to my car and in. I had asked the girl in the office before they took me to x.Ray , if I could have the box, she said she needed to scan it, and I said , well , how about that piece of paper that fell out of the box on the floor. She picked it up off the floor handed it to me, I put it in my purse. When I got home and read the piece of paper , ( instructions for the brace) and was taking the brace off to make adjustments and put ice on my knee, I discovered, it was on backwards. MEANING the HINGE did not BEND with my knee. By the time I got home and discovered this , I was in just as much pain as when I went in to the doctor if not MORE. I knew it wasn't broken. Maybe she meant to put it on backwards to isolate my knee. I don't know. I think it would have benefited me to have had more time, So the brace could have been put on me correctly. If there wasn't enough time for this appointment, it shouldn't have been made. The next day, Physical therapy called, to make an appointment, several. The doctor told me I should stay in this brace 6-8 weeks , but therapy, they can't get me in until ...June.I probably won't need it by then.I'M VERY DISCOURAGED. IT MAKES ME WONDER IF I SHOULD HAVE GONE IN TO THE DOCTOR.I was trying to save money by not going to the ER.USUALLY, the doctors at providence have provided excellent care.I'm very hopeful this was an isolated incident.
