About Jocelyn E. Gates
Providing good health care, Jocelyn believes, has to involve the whole person. “I was drawn to health care because it has such an important impact not just on physical health, but also on spiritual, emotional and social well-being,” she says. “A big part of my job is helping patients find their own inner motivation for maintaining and improving their health.”
As a physician assistant, Jocelyn appreciates the collaboration and communication involved in caring for the entirety of a person. Whether she’s assisting patients with preventive measures or helping them achieve breakthroughs in their understanding of health, she enjoys building lasting relationships with her patients and seeing them through life’s changes.
Jocelyn received her education in rural and urban settings that emphasized diversity and inclusion for all. She earned her bachelor’s degree at Montana State University in Bozeman, and her physician assistant degree at Creighton University in Omaha, Neb.
Outside of the office, she is most happy in the mountains. She spent several summers leading youth backpacking trips in Western Montana. When she’s not exploring the outdoors, Jocelyn spends her free time learning about history and reading.

Caring, thoughtful, attentive provider. Asked before and during the exam to be sure of consent and comfort. Very accommodating of my hearing disability. Took my concerns seriously, was familiar with my past history, arranged for needed testing after consulting with a specialist, and referred me to specialist after testing complete. I was very impressed with this provider. Your survey should ask about ease of making appointments through Patient Portal and not just phone calls. As a deaf patient, I use Patient Portal to schedule appointments and communicate with care givers.
