I was having sudden allergic hives all over my body which I have never had in my life. I suspected it was related to a recent Pfizer Covid booster which can cause a hyper-immune reaction/hives in some people after a week or two. I visited a Kadlec Express Care clinic for immediate care, was given a prednisone prescription, and a recommendation to see my primary Dr, ASAP. The pharmacy was unable to fill the prescription that day, and I also decided to avoid the high histamine food that I thought might have also been contributing to the hives. By the time I picked up the prednisone the hives were diminished a lot and I didn't take the prednisone, but I had it if I needed it. I called Dr McRobert's office and was told she was booked about 7 weeks out (but, I was also due for a wellness exam so I made that appointment) and was also put on a wait-list for a more immediate office visit. I was super concerned because I had a trip/conference coming up in 3 weeks that included my meals for 5 days, and no clue what was causing the sudden hives! I called Dr McRoberts office again a few days later, just hoping, and the very lovely receptionist was able to get me in the next business day. Dr McRoberts and the rest of the staff were all very kind, professional, and helpful. Dr ordered a food allergy and other tests, plus a referral to an Allergy Dr. I am grateful for the receptionist who got me in quickly for the appointment with Dr McRoberts, which greatly reduced my concerns/anxiety about being out of town and possibly having another unexpected allergy attack. Was even considering canceling the trip and to accept my losses. Dr McRoberts recommended an antihistamine for me to begin taking and to avoid the specific food that I thought might also be contributing. I am very pleased with my experience and the results of her advice, and looking forward to working with Dr McRoberts and her staff in the future. ;-)
